Well, it turns out that boy guppies will chase girl guppies incessantly, so the kind fish folks recommend a 2:1 or even 3:1 ratio of females to males.

I may not like 'em very much, but they are living creatures and I can't stand to see the SIX males in our tank chasing the ONE female (who is very, very pregnant). They're going to kill her if they don't let up. So I bought 5 more female guppies today.
