Miscellaneous, Disconnected Thoughts

Yesterday was my roommate’s birthday. We’ve lived together as roommates off an on for nearly 10 years now, but I’m still not sure how old she is. She says, “I’m 60, but I round off”. I think she may really only be 58. Perhaps 59. I'll post about her sometime; she's a good person.

I took her to the movies last night—we watched, “Shall We Dance”. I highly recommend it to all of you! Guys, it’s a chick-flick, but guaranteed to get you points from your girl if you take her to see it. We were also going to go out for dinner, but neither of us were in the mood after the movie, so we went home & ordered a pizza instead. Then we sat in the living room together eating pizza and watching TV. I overheard her on the phone with her sister—she said this was the best birthday she’s ever had. Who-da thunk? I’m glad she had such a good day.

Emily and my mom left yesterday morning to go Kate’s house for the week. I always like to have a little bit of “me” time when she goes visiting family, but the prospect of not seeing her until next Sunday afternoon is a bit daunting. Last night, I couldn’t sleep. I kept hearing Rita Marley in my head singing, “The Bed’s Too Big Without You”—of course I realize Em will come home, while Bob Marley never will, so perhaps that was a bit histrionic on my part, but I miss my baby. I slept with one of her blankets.

Tiffany, the bride, is coming over tonight to pick everything up. Yes, it’s all done. If my digital camera is working properly tonight, I’ll try to get a picture of her in the dress so I can post it. If not, you’ll have to wait until after the wedding when I get my film developed.

I called in sick to work yesterday, now I’m unbelievably busy today & tomorrow. Thursday morning, early, I leave for Vegas. I’ll try to post again before I leave, but my activity will be sparse. Take care of yourselves and be nice to each other.
